The Moments of Love - 5. The summer after my tenth

The time went so fast in the preparation for the final board exams. I was excited at the same time very nervous when I first entered the exam hall my centre. I was so tensed that I could hear my own heartbeat. As the first language(Telugu)'s paper I question sheet was handed to me I was so relieved to see that I know the answers of most of the questions in it. I was able write my first paper well which boosted more confidence in me. And the next paper II of first language also went pretty well. Then the next day was my nightmare as it was second language which was Hindi. It had been quite difficult in all the exams I attended in my school to accquire a good percentage. I always used to hear a lot for my naive performance in this subject. I was very nevous as the papers were being distributed. As I saw the paper I had a relief sigh and started answering. I was happy as the paper went well but at the same time I was pretty worried that I do lot of spelling mistakes. After then all the other papers went swiftly. After the last paper was done, I felt so light as I was relieved of all the pressures. Then all our classmates met at Vinith's house which was our favourite meeting spot and enjoyed a lot. I must admit that even though the exams may pressurize us before but, after they are finished, the feeling is indescribable.
As the days passed I getting more and more bored with very frequent visits of representatives of various corporate junior colleges asking of what percentage  I was expecting and whether I would join their college. Then Dadd asked me whether I would like to go to Navuduru to see my grand paa and have some fun too. I was very happy that I would be able to see all my cousins and said yes. My brother's final exams were still about to commence in 1or 2weeks. So, I was to go alone and I had no problem with that as I was quite aquainted with such journeys.
My grand parents were very pleased to see me. Chanti uncle and aunty  asked me about how did my Board Exams went and I assured them that I would get good percentage.
Then we went to Palakollu where we had pretty good time with all our cousins. As we were spending our most playful time there, the day of results flushed me. I was nervous all the day thinking about what percentage I would get. Then a call came from my brother announcing my results. To my surprise I got very low marks than I expected. I got 523 out of 600 and I was very disappointed. The second language marks were very low which effected my overall grade. But, my uncle and aunt felt very glad and all my cousins and Jyothi started congradulating.
Jyothi spotted that I was pretty disappointed. So, she came to me and said," You are really a brilliant student... Hey!! Cheer up... For you that total might seem low to me. But I know for sure what kind of efforts you might have put. So, be happy dear.. "
I was much relieved and gave a sigh and but I said to myself "How can I show my face to my parents and friends.."
The next day mom and my brother were to reach Navuduru. So, I and Jyothi along with Teja, Guna, Jyoshna and Sai (Jyothi's brother) started and reached home by night. I was pretty worried as I have to face my angry mom after those results tomorrow.
The next day morning I was taking bath and came to my little cousins shouting about their aunt viz my mom's arrival. Then I ran to recieve in towel as I was so out of my mind worrying about her reaction. Then, I saw my mom with my bro standing beside with the luggage. As I received them, my mom was pricking all the way to the house about my 10th results. That was the end of all the fun as I was always pissed off whenever mom talks about those results.
The same day all our cousins, me and Jyothi started for Mamuduru, a small village which we love most as we had all the childhood memories there. Mom will come after one day as she had to talk to grand paa and grand maa. I felt very relieved and we had fun all the way long as we were surrounded by fields and coconut trees and everything was green. The 4km walk didn’t seem too far as we had fun all along climbing trees for mangoes, running from the farmer after it, eating mirchi bajji in the way, giggling, hopping as we became kids once again. As we reached home grand maa gave a warm hug to each of us and was very happy to see us all together.
The whole day went well and had nice nap in the corridor under clear skies full of stars, fresh air free from pollution and far from the city life which is too mechanized. Although sleeping for just 6 hours we feel very refreshed and I really love the place a lot.
